As it gets closer to the release of the Toyota Crown Signia, Toyota has offered up highlight info to keep interest up: Five Things To Know About the First-Ever Toyota Crown Signia - Toyota USA Newsroom Most of the five points are what is already known but I'll add a tidbit or two: At 243 hp (181 kW) it is the same as the Highlander Hybrid. Comment: so the powertrain will probably mimic the HiHy with the exception of the battery which may see the Crown Signia get the bipolar NiMH instead of the normal NiMH found in the HiHy. While the Highlander Hybrid can tow 3,500 lbs (1588 kg), the Crown Signia can tow 2,700 lbs (1225 kg). Comment: in contrast the RAV4 Hybrid can tow 1,750 lbs (794 kg) Built on the same TNGA-K line as the Crown Sedan. Comment: it'll probably have the same 112.2 in wheelbase which is also the same as the Highlander Hybrid. The RAV4 Hybrid is also built on the TNGA-K. Should slot in between the Highlander Hybrid and the RAV4 Hybrid if you look at the Japanese dimensions at 196.1 in, slightly shorter than the HiHy but a little skinnier and lower than both the HiHy and RAV4 Hybrid. Toyota calls it a crossover. Now it is projected to be in showrooms late Summer
Any pictures of the dash? Link only has this treacly missive: Standard bronze-finished trim and color-matched, soft touch panels on the doors and dashboard, on all grades, draws the eye to functional elements like the HVAC, drive mode select button and audio controls — all of which adds a touch of finesse.
