Don't want to get to far off subject with an explanation, but the dealer lists a Prius Brake Actuator as a 2004-2009. Toyota parts online lists 2005-2009. At the site, I double check, when it asked "Does this fit my vehicle" if you put 2007, it fits, If you put 2004, it says it doesn't fit. Does anyone know what the difference is between a 2004 and a 2005-09 actuator is? Thank you, ebm
No I don't I know that the '04 and '05 is a few centimeters shorter in the nose the front fenders won't interchange from the '06 to '09 the brake actuators from 05 I have put in an '09 car and they work just fine no codes everything is up to snuff I generally like to find the later model when possible and lots of these cars are coming into tow lots and junk yards now with newer replacements they just got done doing the brakes now the battery is gone bad and they're not having it so that brand new $1,400 actuator is sitting at the tow lot for me to go get or get the whole car whatever there's a lot of that going on with these people just do one thing and then the next obvious things happen and they're finished they often head off and buy a Honda fit or what have you so I'm not sure to be honest with you I don't know what's not going to fit a little fit It's the same car it'll bolt right in it's got the weight under it it's got every same line going to it and everything it will interact with the computer and will activate the brakes and won't have any lights on at least that's what we've experienced here We are predominantly running 06 to '09s I have an '05 parts car and the brake actuator from that car went in an '09 work vehicle that's driven 120 mi a day that has no lights on the dash at all.
In case someone else has a problem reading without any breaks at all. Here is a translation; No I don't I know that the '04 and '05 is a few centimeters shorter in the nose the front fenders won't interchange from the '06 to '09 the brake actuators from 05 I have put in an '09 car and they work just fine no codes everything is up to snuff. Thank you for the input. I've found to many people who put used ones in and they don't work. One guy put in 3, another guy put in two. I'm getting a new one but am having trouble finding a good place online.
