For Gen 5 Prime, if you are driving Auto mode or HV mode. Is there a way to calculate the total of the EV range for a full charge from the Display information ? I don't see a place to view "total EV range" . In the infotainment center - the history also does not show actual "miles" travel . (just the efficiency number). Just wanna to know how do you track the total EV mileage. Thanks.
what are "HV operations"? are you referring to the estimate range? I am hoping to see the actual EV miles since a full charge, while driving in Auto-mode. Thanks.
Not available anywhere. EV Auto mode that jumps between EV, HV, or EV plus HV is way too complex due to the EV mode will be using charge from the wall or charge from regen of kinetic energy imparted to the vehicle from gas. Even the %EV presented at the end of HV mode driving is bogus due to this complication.
Car cannot so I use only EV mode most trips, but if I need an HV mode segment: - I photograph the odometer and %battery remaining at the start of the HV segment - I photograph the odometer and %battery remaining at the end of the HV segment - I calculate the “EV miles while in HV mode” as “delta %battery * average full charge EV range” (42 for me if segment includes driving above 50MPH, 45 for me for slower driving) - I enter the trip into my spreadsheet as an EV segment and a “pure HV” segment (actual miles in HV mode minus the calculated EV mode miles)
That's one place Hybrid Assistant shines. In its reports, you can get a graph of what mode you're in and its consumption. It also gives a nice summary of what percentage of each mode you were in. The only big caveat is it's an Android only app but will run on any old android devices from 2012 and up.
