Engine behaving strangely and popping hoses off intake manifold

    If you're impatient, you can look up the code in the Repair Manual (more info) and find its Confirmation Driving Pattern. Those are different for every code and some are simpler than others, which is why some permanent codes can stay around for a really long time, if your driving habits never happen to include that pattern.

    Once you complete the pattern and the monitor says it completed with a normal result, the permanent code should be gone on your next startup.

    It looks burnt rather to me, which could be, if the filter is made out of a light plastic mesh.

    This could be a good confirmation of an occasional back fire / small explosion in the intake manifold popping different hoses off it and burning the light mesh (maybe both - blowing ang burning it) ;)
