Phoned Toyota (Toyota Brand Engagement Center, 1-800-331-4331) re 2nd fob. For my build date (11/23), I was told to expect an authorization letter in May. Hope I get an alert in the Toyota app this month

Doesn't even seem right, I have a 10/23 built HEV and I got my second fob in February 1st.

Only just found this thread. Let me sum up of what I believe is the situation. Wait ages for a new Prius and then wait almost as long before Toyota condescends to hand over a second key fob.

Maybe a silver lining of the recall/stop-sale is Toyota can finally get caught up on making these damn key fobs...

@Maturedriver: Yep, good summary! :) But worth it for a super-cool car IMHO. If a single keyfob is problematic, the workaround is to use the "digital key" feature of the cellphone app. It is a bit of a pain to set up, but once paired works almost as well as the keyfob. The only minor thing I noticed is that with the cellphone the interior car lights don't come on when you walk up. You can still walk up, touch the handle and it unlocks normally. I even tried locking my cellphone in the car realizing if I could do that it would be really bad (locked out of the car *and* no cellphone), but the car wouldn't let me do it. You can lock your phone in the car with the keyfob on you, but can't if you have no keyfob on you.

I finally got my second keyfob a bit over a month ago, so when I last did a reload of the app, didn't bother with the Digital Key.

Odd thing for me is when I bought this car, 2023 LE it came with 2 key fobs. Only one of them had Prius on the case back the other had Venza. The Venza had the extra trunk release button. Also on the mobile app it still shows that I still have the service campaign for a second key. When I go in for service I'm going to inquire about the second key. I'm curious to know if the car will support 3 key fobs?
