Help! Chirping noise while accelerating

    I notice a chirping noise while accelerating between 30-40mph. Looking at the dashboard Hybrid System Indicator gauge it only starts to "chirp" when/if the indicator goes into "PWR". If I back off the accelerator and have it drop back into "ECO" it stops, but if I rev back into "PWR" the sound starts again. It's a 2013 model @115,000 miles. Has anyone else experienced this? Any insight would be much appreciated.

    Put on new tyres? The Prius has decently powerful electric motors. I’ve been able to chirp the tyres on the original Bridgestone Ecopias when the car was new.

    Could be your water pump.

    I have an aftermarket water pump that is chirping right now.

    Going to be replacing it with AISIN

    Nothing has been updated or added recently except for brake pads around this time last year.

    This is a new to me vehicle, I don't think the water pump has been replaced, so I wonder if mine could be going bad. If that's the case should I be getting some sort of warning code/light on the dashboard?

    Sound doesn't come across that well in the video. I "can" hear some kinda extra whir, but subtle, and could be dismissed as just the increased engine rpm/stress. Not saying it's not happening; just my take on the video.

    Hi everyone, recently i have noticed noise from somewhere under the steering wheel compartment.. It sounds like short circuiting like small sparks or something. Its not loud but i can hear it It occurs only at high speeds (above 130km/h). Any suggestions? Odo 240000km
