My 2013 don't have any drain tubes after I couldn't find them myself I had 2 different auto glass techs come out and they both couldn't find them either one of them took the headliner down and the plastic trim the runs down the sides of the front windshield off looking for them and gave up. If you have a chance maybe you can post a few more picture like with the sunroof opened . This post actually save me some serious bucks i was getting ready to buy that part for over $500 and paying someone to install it

The front seal/gasket just in front of the sunroof deflector on my Prius is shot. The first big storm of the season is coming. Will this cause water to leak inside the car? Can it be fixed without opening the sunroof? The battery is dead, so I can't open the sunroof.

This seems to be a common problem with Prius sunroofs. All sunroofs, just sooner with Prius.
EXPENSIVE to replace the rubber seal.

You could silicone it, but you won't be able to open it easily....

On mine, that isn't the water seal. I ripped that rubber out several years ago, and it has remained mostly leak-free.

When the front passenger mat was wet once, I did find possible little drain slots around the real seal, gummed up from dirt or tree debris. After cleaning, no more wetness. It is garaged most of the time, but still gets exposed to rain while driving, and endured a cross-state monsoon trip Friday without leaks.

Checking the real seal beneath the glass does require opening the roof, so the dead battery is a problem.

A few months back I had some auto glass guy come out and seal the window up then I went ahead and bought the gaskets the guy posted above and at some point, I plan on having the same guy come out again and try and install the gasket for me

That's the same molding that deteriorated on my 2012 prius IV. Did you ever locate the appropriate replacement piece?

    Thanks,

Would you be able to provide a picture of the drain holes? I am having the same issue with leaking on the passenger seat because of the sunroof. I cannot find the drains for the life of me!

Any update to this thread? My 2010 is doing this as well. I'm not going to replace the glass so I either need a cheap Toyota is going to do it for me or I need a different way to fix it. I live in the PNW and when it rains, the seal sticks up like a rodent has been eating it but I know they aren't. When it's dry the seal goes back down and I forget about it. Well, the rain has arrived and my roof looks like it is growing antlers because it's sticking up again. I hope it doesn't leak. It didn't last year but it looks worse this wet season.

For me, I recently sold my Prius to a friend, but I never replaced the seal (way too expensive) and never had any leakage in the 12 years that i owned it. When the seal pops out, it is really ugly but eventually I just cut away and remove the pieces sticking out. This was obviously a Toyota defect.

I'm sitting in the Toyota dealership now dealing with this. I've had the problem for about 8 months with no water leakage, but now that we're experiencing cold weather, I'm getting condensation, frost and ice INSIDE the car and it's therefore become a safety hazard (I don't have a garage so the car is parked outside). Clearly it's a defect, so let's see how Toyota deals with it.

I have the same issue. I’m in Portland Oregon and this seemed to happen after our most recent freeze. It’s horrible I have to replace the whole sunroof. Quoted over $3000. Is there anything I can do?

I have a 2013 with the same problem mine was leaking water bad. I found a local windows guy came out and glued the top closed as a temporary fix that was almost 2 years ago hasn't leaked since he said he would come out and fix it right if I get the parts for around $300 labor. I been trying to research the parts can someone confirm which of these parts they think are the ones needed to get the job done?

I never went beyond trimming off the warped rubber as cleanly as I could (2012 Prius Three), and then leaving it alone, as mentioned here several years ago. The warped piece was not the actual weather seal, but just some trim. When there was a water leak, I found and cleaned some grooves along the seal, and experienced no more leak. Though it was garaged most of the time.

Traded it in last month towards a new RAV4 Prime. Even though the salescritter and I talked looked at and talked about it, the trade-in value was not dinged for this unrepaired trim issue.
