I just purchased this used 2020 prime at the local Toyota dealer. The one I was went to see was sold and I was in a crunch as my old car is toast so I bought this one. As with any of my purchases I tend to dwell on them after the fact and have been tossing and turning all night about getting an extended warranty or not. I purchased one from first Canadian and after spending the first half of the night googling it I was going to cancel it as I assumed it’s not worth it. Now in the am and I’m spending the time looking at the car fax. The service history seems fairly often and I’m wondering if it could have an underlaying issues that they can’t seem to diagnose or repair properly. Some of it makes sense as it’s every 3 months roughly 5k so could be someone doing oil changed way more often than needed. Some of it’s every 2 months though or less than 2k which seems way too often. So now I’m panicking I’ve bought a lemon and I’m Canada lemon laws don’t exists. Any insight? I signed the bill of sale but none of the financing stuff but am supposed to pickup the car Saturday. Thanks.

While your post started out like a Toyota Stealership bait and switch, I'm not seeing anything to be concerned about, though most of the info you cut & pasted is missing. Main point is Prius are notorious for going for decades with nothing but oil changes and you've yet to show anything to the contrary.
Not sure this will work in Canada but you may try registering your vehicle @ Welcome Toyota Owners | Toyota.com Once you create an account you can register your VIN. If it works in Canada as it does in the states you'll have access to the complete service history. I don't put many miles on my '18 Prime Advanced but ... Here's a snippet of mine:
When car is under warranty you can put a Steaership through hell on every slight little noise or concern... Without actually seeing the description for the purpose of each of the visits there's no way to know, but I wouldn't worry about it at all. The car will be fine.
Unfortunately, there is no such things as an owner account on the Toyota Canada web site (that I could find). The only thing you can do is update the vehicle's ownership address (I'm guessing to send recall notices). I had to go to the dealership and talk to the service center myself. They couldn't provide a copy of the service records since they contain personal information about the previous owner. They did scan through the service records and said the previous owner did all his/her scheduled maintenances and had no odd maintenance done. They also confirmed that the exhaust heat exchanger was not replaced (which I would have preferred they had done so I wouldn't have to worry about it failing).
I have the opposite issue on a 2021 Prime I'm looking at with fairly high-ish miles on it - the carfax indicates "personal lease" but there was ZERO toyota maintenance done to the car - even when free in first 2 years 24k miles. don't leased vehicles also have free Toyota Care in first 2 years - or for duration of lease? thanks for any thoughts- my post- Hello - looking at used 2021 Prime LE high-ish miles - what to check? battery/engine, red flags? | PriusChat
that's what I thought. why would a leased 2021 prime never go to free dealer maint. and at least 2 free synthetic oil changes? wish I could somehow track down origin owner/lessee and find out a little more about how car was driven/cared for. argh.
I just sold my 2017 Prius Prime. I bought it new and it was never back to the dealership after I bought it. I did all the maintenance myself. Only once since I owned it did anyone else touch it, when tires were replaced at a Firestone store. I expect carfax on the car to have zero maintenance information on the car, Toyota or otherwise.
Thanks- I noticed on the honda owners web portal you can report maintenance you do yourself that goes on vehicle maintenance history for the VIN with Honda. Would this show up on a carfax? I presume it would. I wonder if there's a way to do that for Toyota/prius- might be good for resale. And yes - I do the same- once free mainteance ended - and no one is going to treat your car as well as you will - and sometimes car maintenance shops/even the dealer - do dumb/bad/careless stuff to cars when doing simple maintenance.
