No problem. First time I was able to reply on this site. I was really satisfied with this job. My Prius 3 has 240k miles and looks great with this bumper. I just provided the vin an paint code to them.

About MBI auto on ebay they ship two ways the cheap way they fold the bumper and the expensive way they ship unfolded which is more expensive if you had it shipped the cheap way did it come through okay ? Thanks

 

I can't imagine that working. A fender liner yes, but front bumper??

 

I had it shipped the expensive way for my Prius. I ordered one for my daughters Camry this year, the economy one, and it was folded. I unfolded it and formed it over a garden trailer that I had and it came out good. It is a great paint match. Once i mounted all of the pieces, and installed it in the car, she never knew it was folded.

This must be some sort of third-party bumper "wrap"? A stock bumper would not fold.

Do you have any pictures, or a link to the product?

 

It was folded by the opening I am going to try to load a picture of it mounted on the car.

Ok, I can see that. It's like a skin, definitely aftermarket, but looks good. Original bumper is under it? Or no??

 

No. There are just grills screwed into the new one

I only noticed one paint issue, as of now, probably from handling.

The paint itself is what I would describe as okay enough for me since this is the part of my car that gets beat to hell the most from rocks and bugs. If you are after the near perfect Toyota quality paint, this probably isnt the route to go.

I'll probably keep updating as it gets finished unfolding to find out if i need to heat it or set in the sun or whatever, for now it is just going to sit face down on the floor inside my ~70 degree fahrenheit house since it is bed at the time of unwrapping and this posting.
I'll update how fitmit ends up eventually, right now I am waiting on the plastic shield that is right below the bumper cover before I put it all on.

 

After just sitting overnight, it was still looking a bit too curled to be fit to put on the car.


I ran a space heater near the cover in the room for like 4 hours and now it looks like it would fit on the car.

 

Makes you wonder if somehow the colour is embedded in the plastic; I wouldn’t expect paint to be that flexible.

 

They probably heat it up with a heat gun before bending it.

We apply 3 coats of base color and then they are coated with 2 coats of clear coat, before it goes into the baking tunnel. The parts then pass through our quality control inspection before they are shipped out of our facilities."

I'm with you thinking the paint would have suffered like some crackings or something when bent, but I don't see an issue with the paint where the bends were.

 

Yeah must be a paint spec with extreme flexibility.
