can someone pls tell me what model my 2010 prius is . i/e prius 1-2-3-5 yadada.... i have two . the only difference i can see is the fog/driving lights on the red one . and i cant find a switch to operate them ! also the ev button on both dosnt seem towork . thnx
The levels that come with fog lights would also have LED headlights, and headlight washers, which would be evidenced by small rectangular plastic covers just below each headlight. The headlight in pic are not LED either. I’m not that familiar with US levels, but with no sunroof, probably level 2, aka II in 2010. this site is good, has the older brochures: Auto-Brochures | home
ive got the factory brochure/owners manual . no answers that i can understand there . the lights are there . apears like factoty wiring . but no switch i can find .seems like to simple questions . but maybe its not that simple . the headlights are not grt.sure would be nice to ad 2 ore lights to the mix
The fog lights tell me it could be a Prius 3, but the radio tells me it's not. Does it have SKS on the passenger side door? Prius 3 will have SKS while Prius 2 won't.
AFAIK if it’s from-the-factory fog lights it’ll also have LED headlights, with the washers. Our CDN Touring is thus. Also had the 17” rims. Somewhat comparable to US level V. Front end appearance: Fog light switch:
Here is the thread where the differences were detailed: 3G Prius (2010-2015) Standard and Optional Equipment (Some Countries) | PriusChat As Mendel pointed out above, in 2010 only the Roman numeral Ⅴ trim came with fog lights, and it also came with headlight washers, dual-projector LED headlights, and 17-inch wheels. The switch for the factory fog lights would have been on the turn signal stalk. The red car shown above appears to be some lower trim with fog lights added. Edit: jinx
thnx , i guess that is the only thing that makes any sence . why ad fog lights with no switch ?but people are crazy ! soin real life its a prius 1 . correct ?
They'll have put a switch somewhere. Usually they go for one of the blank fillers on the dash instead of the factory stalk location. Unless they just wired the fogs to be always on with the headlights, or something goofy like that.
I've thought more than once, that it wouldn't hurt to substitute cheap fog lights for the black plastic filler pieces, but not wire them to anything. Purely for looks. That's pretty much all they're good for, even when they work. The once in a blue moon I use ours, I invariably start switching them on and off, just to see if I can tell any difference. One thing against doing the non-functional fog light install: apparently if you have equipment, but it's not working, that can fail you at an inspection.
i guess it would be best to just replace the orig. headlights with a upgrade . any recommendation's ?
