Hello Team Prius! I have searched the forum, and while people ask about language conversions, i couldn't find anything on peoples experience with a non English version of the Prius. I am about to purchase a 2020 Prius PHEV in New Zealand. I have an option on both a New Zealand New vehicle , or a Japanese Imported Vehicle, however either of these vehicles would be bought "Sight Unseen", and the vehicle will be delivered to me, so i cannot view in advance. My Question to the group is how limiting is the lack of English in the main display? Is it limiting in its day to day use? I understand that the Navigation doesn't work etc, which is mitigated by Car Play/ Android auto, but do you miss out on other key information? Can one off settings be managed with help, then left? What help is available in that regard? Any help would be much appreciated. Thank You
I am not certain, but I imagine it would be a little difficult to read the warning messages if you couldn’t read Japanese.
You can change the language on the odometer to English, it is very easy. I have just done it on my 2016 Japanese Import. The audio equipment will need to be repaced on mine, unsure about 2020 version. Still trying to figure out how to change from KM/H to MPH
