<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(staze @ Nov 27 2006, 04:47 PM) </div> OUCH - I just paid (dec. 10th) $27822 for the same car - via internet at Hamer Toyota in the valley
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(icharry @ Dec 13 2006, 12:01 PM) </div> Eh, I have it now. Great car. They had to pull some strings to get it special shipped from japan. Oh well, I love it. Final cost was something like $28600 or so.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(MarkusMann @ Nov 19 2006, 08:11 AM) </div> I pain 22,600 for my Prius, base model with #2 package. That's about $1500 under MSRP. Bought it in Madera, CA. Email me if you want the same deal. Saleslady said she would be happy to do it again.
I'm in Portland, OR. I just paid $26,007 + $250 broker fee for a 2007 Package #5 on Dec 19. I contacted a number of local dealers and brokers, and this was the best price offered. (Broker was Bob Lee, who I found referred here. 360 944-0215) I offer this mostly as a data point, and not as a boast -- we should be paying a few hundred over invoice, not bragging about saving a few hundred under MSRP. I predict in 6 months the price I paid will seem grossly inflated. I had not a whiff of a supply problem from any dealer I talked to. Everyone had cars in stock. I picked up my car 32 hours after my first email to Bob.
are these prices including or excluding tax? it's hard to determine a good deal when people don't specify.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(mayathystle @ Dec 23 2006, 10:01 AM) </div> I'm sorry - I forget that most won't know that Oregon does not have any sales tax. The only cost I'm not including is licensing. So, the total was: $26,007 = Prius + package #5 + mats. No tax. $168 = Licensing $250 = broker fee ====== $26,425 If I'm being really complete I could mention the $1,500 or so I'll be getting off my 2007 taxes, but I'm trying to help other shoppers, and including that in the final price is misleading and unhelpful.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(eleben @ Nov 27 2006, 08:08 PM) </div> That's a really good price. Where do you live? In some areas they're in more demand than in others, thus the price is affected. I'm going to sell my 2004 in February or March. It has everything but Nav and JBL sound. I'm told that my trade-in would be at 'wholesale' value. I went to Carmax and was told that they would buy my car for $17,000 and then send it out for auction (basically wholesale). So, I've been looking at selling it as a private party. It has nearly new Hydroedge tires and a 100,000 Toyota platinum 'Platinum' full warranty. It's discouraging to me that you got your fully loaded 2005 for only $19,600. Heck, maybe I should just go with Carmax and pass up the hassle of private party selling. Any words of advice would be appreciated.
heck, after three years, its about time the price became negotiable. however, i would not have waited to get a deal. i bought my 2006 at MSRP on Sept 12 and am happy i did it. waiting another 2-3 months was not worth it.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(icharry @ Dec 13 2006, 03:01 PM) </div> I had to shop for a dealer who would sell for M.S.R.P. I finally found one, had to wait 6 months, (this was back in 2005) Mine was $21,800, base model with the only option of side curtain air bags. One dealer was charging an extra $6,000 for mud flaps, pin stripes, and back-up sensors!!!!! CRAZY!!!! Good luck.
I paid $200 over factory invoice for my Prius package #2 last week. I got an internet price quote on www.fitzmall.com and used that as the price point for negotiating with local dealers. My dealer matched it pretty quickly without counteroffer. With more Prius on the lots, the reduced tax deduction and more demand for Camry hybrid, my conclusion is that you can get a much better deal now than 3 months ago.

Paid MSRP for a 2006 Pagkage 3, took delivery on September 20. I had decided to buy the Prius on September 13, and insisted on delivery before September 30, when the tax credit was halved. So, I called around ant told the dealers that I needed delivery within two weeks. Got the following responses from dealers. 1. You got to be kidding, I have a 3 month back log. 2. I have a few, but I charge $500-1000 over list (one dealer threw in the 'mandatory' (cough cough) vin etching for $750 3. One dealer who said, yeah, I have one coming in next week, Package 3, Grey (and yes we had a winner). A different salesman in the same dealership said they had a 3 month back log -- I didn't question the second guy. The dealership offerered me a crappy deal on my trade in (so low, that I actually kept the car for my daughter when she's home from college). But overall, I was happy.
Hi everyone! New to the site, love it already! I live in the northern San Antonio area. I wanted a 2007 package #6 but there were none to be found around here. So I bought a package #5 and had the leather added along with XM and walked out at $31,212 including TT&L. Absolutely love the car and it's red my favorite color! Happy New Year! K
hello all I just got a 2007 grey with the 6 package for $750 under list at AAA pricing was responsible for $500. of it.. Doug
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(dougsharpe @ Jan 3 2007, 02:27 PM) </div> i agree..... prices seem to be coming down... i just (1/6/07) got a 2007 basic with package 2 for $22,404 + dealer fees ($269) + 5% tax i was told invoice was 22,504 (MSRP 24,000 or so), but not sure if thats really the case... most importantly, i didnt feel like i got screwed on teh trade-in (lost of dealers give seemingly big discounts on price only to screw you for the trade-in - watch out, know the kelly blue book to at least get a ballpark). vitaly
We got $316 under MSRP, but that was in early August with gas prices still over $3, so call it a symbolic victory. Hope the AMT doesn't kill our full-credit tax rebate: the jury is still out on that one. Car has been great (if you don't count how fast an overlooked dome light can kill your 12V), and the service (in that case) has been fine. The salesmen, on the other hand, are long gone.
just purchased a 2007 package 5 prius in southern california paid $25955 before tax and fees, about 10% for tax and fees was also offered the 7 year/75000 platnium warranty for 1295 with 0 deductible, or 1095 for 50 deductible. i bought the 1095 one but am not sure if this is needed or a good deal? i have 30 days to go back for a refund on that. worked with south coast toyota in costa mesa : todd farhat, with the internet division, great guy to work with.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(chuperman @ Jan 9 2007, 04:56 PM) </div> The 7 years/100,000 miles Platinum warranty with 0 deductible is offered on PriusChat, through Toyota of Greenfield, for only $990. I am afraid you overpaid.
Does anyone know if there are online dealerships? The package I am looking for is not available in my area but maybe I can pay for the delivery charge if I can save some money. I went to www.fitzmall.com but I don't really understand if they will deliver the car to California.
In mid-December '06, I got my 2007 Prius, Package #6 (basically all the bells and whistles) for $2,000 under MSRP. I also negotiated for half off the XM radio and a 6.5% APR on the financing. I'm in the Northern VA area and went to Koons Toyota in Tysons Corner. Fabulous salesperson - talk with Mo. I love it!!! I have a 15 minute commute and I first got 38 MPG. At just under 700 miles right now, I am getting 40.2 MPG, even with the colder weather. My last car it took me over 2 months to drive 700 miles, so I'm having a ball playing with my new toy, er...car. ~Mary -- 2007 Prius, Driftwood Pearl Package #6 with dealer convenience package
