Without looking at the price difference, in terms of quality, gas milage, and realibility, which on would you choose?
The G4 is more fuel efficient and somewhat more reliable, but it's as ugly as a mud fence to me, especially the back end. Subjective, I know but there's a REASON that they did an emergency refresh. Handling is somewhat improved over the G3 Price and (accurate!) odometer reasons are the 2 largest determiner of whether you get fair deal and how reliable the car will wind up being. I would also want some data from the mothership about service history and any fender-benders or major accidents. You're talking about 8 and 9 year old cars. They're like middle aged humans. Some are remarkably fit.........................for their age.
16 all the way, from everything I’ve read here over the past 14 years, but do your due diligence on the exhaust heat exchanger issue
I have the same problem as ETC the 2016 versions has some weird design but i wanted to know if there was a big difference and it seems like there is, at this point i love the design of the new prius generation and im still deciding if i should wait instead, but thank you some much already appreciate you guys opinion
2016 Quality far better 2016 mpg better 2016 Reliability far better 2015 Quality suffers with head gaskets, brake boosters and egr clogging which makes the 2015 Reliabilty much worse So your 2016 total cost of ownership is sure to be less even if you pay $3500 more. Sorry if the above is too obvious for some…
If by "new prius generation" you mean the new Gen 5, then I suggest you try one on for size in person before going any further down the path of waiting. Yes, they look a lot better, but are significantly smaller/tighter on the inside, both front and rear cabins. I did and decided I could never be comfortable fitting in the new one.
