Hi guys, new here. Pumped on the new Prius. Was dailying a Raptor at 14mpg and drive quite a bit now so ya grabbed a prime.

I’m seeing people fitting 19x8.5 +40 wheels with 235/240 tires. Will these fit my car? 18x8.5 +30 (from Corolla GR)

    well I can’t post a link …

Everyday Driver did a Prius VS GR86 video. They used Enkei 18x8 +40 wheels, seemingly with no problem.
But why do you need 235 tires for a Prius...?

I don’t I just hate the stock wheels and liked the GR wheels better and somebody is selling them new on marketplace. Just wanted to make sure I could squeeze +30 offset with 8.5 wide in there

I answered you in the other thread. The +30 is definitely in the no fly zone. You want more like a +50 with a wider wheel like that. You can do like +38-45 with a more aggressive stretch on the tire.

    235/40/18, 18x8.5 +30 wheels. 2024 Prime
Oh thanks!! Not sure I saw that. Ya I’m looking at the car and I’m not sure 1” more exterior poke (6.5” to 8.5”) + the 10mm offset increase (40 to 30) is going to fit. Especially if I use the suspension at all which can happen from time to time. Looks like the stickers could come out like 15mm and look nice and fit. But I dislike these wheels.

Just food for thought, I don't know what color your car is or what look you're going for but there's tons of options from other Toyota or Lexus models that have perfect specs. In general would shoot for an 8" width that way you don't have to get too wacky with the tire size.

Hi Chi-Weezy. You post finally got me to sign up, even if I don't have a prius. Considering it though. Finally an affordable hybrid/EV that's acceptable for enthusiasts. For context, I had a spec miata, RX8, and now QV.

I know tirerack tests fitment, and they do not have 8.5 as an option. Max is 8. So maybe 8.5 will rub, unless fenders are rolled. Looking at matching wheel and tire fitments, 18x8 fitted with either 225/50/18, or 235/40/18 might work. Lots of max and even 200wr tires at those sizes if you want to take your prius autocrossing.

Hey. Cool. Ya 18x8 + 30 or +40 should be a good fit. With the 225. I may just plastdip my wheels for now. Maybe do spacers just for quick fix. Then wait for the right wheels to come along.

Again I really don't recommend going sub +35 on wider than stock wheel. You're better off needing a spacer than having a wheel that sticks out too much. An 8" wheel with a +40 offset is a full inch wider than the stock 19s. If you keep stock ride height it will probably be ok but I you can see on mine which is lowered there isn't really a ton of room to go wider without trimming.

Niiice keep me posted. I saw some model 3 wheels PC’d gloss black. Looked nice. They wanted $1200 for the set tho seemed a bit pricey considering those wheels are everywhere online (but most curbed). But ya I may just plastidip mine for now until I figure out the right wheels
