What are my choices when Remote Connect expires after 1 year?

It's only on Prime lineup and even then higher trims.

In my settings on my LE, I can enable or disable "parking assist", but I don't see a button to use it. How does this work?

 

Parking assist are the sensors that beep when you are parking your car.

Also for others, TJA is likely on the base model prime in Canada. You don't get a year free of drive connect trial with it, so you can't use it. But it has an on/off toggle in the settings of the car itself.

So I guess if I wanted to I could pay the $20 or whatever it is for 1 month to see if it does in fact work. But I'd probably wait until after the winter because I don't want to test it in winter roads covered in salt which are all white even when dry lol

 

Ok so remote start requires 15/month fee for cellular network usage. Is there a way for a driver to get in on that somehow from the car? Meaning can I use the cellular as hotspot on my laptop?

 

Yes... if you pay for it. It is called wifi connect, and cost an extra $25 a month. My car came with a free month of hotspot access. I never used it, and let it expire.

 

As stated above, there is Wi-Fi Connect which is $25/month and specifically for turning the car into a mobile hotspot. The big problem is that Wi-Fi Connect needs to be added onto one of the other plans. So it's really $40/month or $50/month(depending on which base plan is paired with it).
