I've been chatting with crutchfield and my local audio installers and have generally landed on the following setup but am stuck deciding on the dash kit as well as the rear speakers. Headunit: Alpine ILX-F509 Front speakers: Alpine S2-S65C Rear: Alpine S2-S65 ? (not sure. crutchfield says they dont fit. local installer says they do) Dash kit: Crutchfield says American International kit. Local Installer says Metra. Tacoma forums say: Scosche What dash kit do you all recommend? Is there a better speaker config? Will the S2-S65 fit in the rear? If not, better/comparable rear coax speakers? I generally listen to Liquid Drum and Bass and Podcasts
my local installer is pushing for me to consider the Sony ES 9500 over the Alpine ILX-F509....thoughts?
I have android Auto on mine. If that's all you want get a $40 dongle and you have wireless Android. The headunit is part of the system. So you will loose steering wheel control, have to wire a new backup camera, your phone won't go through the system ect.
what are you on about? The Maestro RR exists for a REASON. It retains ALL your factory controls. Steering wheel, backup etc.
Funny you believe that but just not true. While yes it's programmable, you will loose some factory features period.
I have not seen anything lost on my Alpine F509. If anything, I gained stuff that the stock setup did NOT have like the ability to see all the tire pressures in real time. If there was anything lost, I havent noticed. Granted, if I havent noticed it, I probably never used it and thus it was useless.
What trim level do you have? I would really love the tire pressure, etc type readouts. I have a ‘19 XLE, and I’m looking to change out my receiver, maybe upgrade the speakers
