I recently changed the drums struts and wheel hubs on the rear of my 08 prius went to pull out of garage amd will not go into drive.
Usually that means you got warning lights and those warning lights come with an error code stored in memory. You can use an OBD2 bluetooth reader and phone apps to read the codes. Or buy a Mini-VCI dongle that comes with a cracked version of Toyota Techstream software that you install on an old Windows computer.
Hello and welcome to PriusChat! We need a little more information about what's going on with your car before we can offer advice. Did you replace the rear wheel cylinders with the brake work, and if so how did you bleed them? Does the car go to "ready" mode OK? Are there any warning lights lit up on the dash after doing the repairs? Do the brake - stop lights come on when you step on the pedal? FYI, your first 5 posts are moderated and can take some time before they show up on the forum. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Well, only red triangle that I know of that shows up without logging error codes is if you open the driver's door when car is in gear. So if it's not related to the door switch, then you need a better device to grab the error codes with.
Yes it sounds like your scanner's very basic and we'll just grab basic p codes that sort of thing The Prius with its large number of internal computers and processing ability needs certain type of capable scanners to communicate with all those computers at one time these capable scanners are usually bi-directional that's important even other expensive bi-directional scanners some of them can't read the Prius completely even expensive one made by matco and snap-on unless they're the latest versions with all the updates paid for subscriptions and all that possibly so it can get very tricky and costly quickly.
If the red triangle is on, there are trouble codes. Take a look at this thread that discusses scan tools. https://priuschat.com/index.php?threads/232741/
If it goes to READY without the triangle, then the only other thing I can think of is if you had your door open while putting the car into Drive/Reverse. That would cause the triangle to come on.
