My newly acquired Toyota Prius does not have a infotainment center and has a very basic CD player, no satellite radio, no navigation, etc. Best Buy wanted $760 for a new head unit (installed) in the Prius despite Thanksgiving Black Friday sales. Nope, not doing that. I have a couple of older tablets gathering dust and a bit of research and a $10 mount from Amazon and a aux audio cable and I am in business. The sound quality (and the video quality on the tablet) sent to my car speakers is very good. The free app is called 'CarWebGuru'. I am hotspot tethering for on the road data and have also downloaded off line maps for my State. Now that I know everything works well I will figure out the cable management and that will be fairly easy.
I did the same thing with my prius since the screen on my stereo doesn't work. I used magnets and mounted it flush to the stereo and it has a very clean look. 20240118 124627 (1) — Postimages
