I have been driving a gen2 Prius that was converted to PHEV with a 6KW battery pack for 5 years after buying it secondhand as converted earlier. All fine, yet the battery is now clearly due for replacement.
I am considering either to sell it as-is - typically for the hobbyist to update -, or to have a dealer convert it back to original with original battery, or to acquire the cells and instructions to update myself.
I am based in Australia, probably this is the very only converted PHEV in the country.

    Any advice ?

Most dealers won’t deal with modifications.
Buy a new battery and replace all the aftermarket stuff.
I seem to recall some Australian conversions, or maybe New Zealand

Have you considered replacing with the Nexcell Lithium upgrade on the Project Lithium website.
(I am not allowed to post the link as I am new to this forum and haven’t enough content history).

I am in a similar situation with a 2012 phv here in Australia (Sydney) and considering both what to do with the car and old battery. The Nexcell looks like a viable alternative - around $8000 AUD for a larger battery.

However, I would also like to get some value out of the old battery as a powerwall etc for home load appliances.

Have you done any research into how to repurpose the old battery?
