Image was taken through the driver's side wheel well. The fender liner is missing/torn and this area gets wet when driving in the rain.

I recently had my 2007 Prius in for service for a p1116 code, which keeps coming back. I also got a p1151 code and both either codes cause the check engine light to come on. Does anyone know what this connector is (red circle) under the front driver's side fender?

Also, the item circled in green is just a beeper I believe. The beeper is apparently supposed to mount to the inside of the fender, but I don't see any obvious attachment points.

I've had the CHS pump replaced and water pump replaced.

Is that three wires on that connector too that looks like the connector that goes on the inverter coolant pump but I no longer have the stock inverter coolant pump in place in my plug is different and I can't see the wires from where I'm looking right now and I took a picture of how that beeper mounts I keep mine unplugged purposely The connectors that go on the pump and the coolant tank sensor are two wire and should be in place or you'd have a code. And I don't think it's a fog light connector

Is it safe to drive with this unplugged? Looks like 3 wires, I can try to get a better picture. The car was just at the dealer to diagnose p1116 and p1151 codes a couple days ago and they mentioned water getting into connectors and causing shorts. I did reset the codes and there doesn't appear to be any new codes. One extra bit of information is that I only got the p1151 code after the dealer had replaced the water pump and flushed the system to try resolving the p1116 code initially.

I took it to Toyota, and the technician also wasn't sure of its purpose but mentioned it had been unplugged previously. They did mention it was causing a power draw, at least when wet. When I connect to the OBD2 port, many sensors report no value, but I'm uncertain if this is due to the software or the Prius itself. I've never owned another Prius and bought this one in its current state, so I lack a 'before and after' comparison.

I don't have that plug hanging on my '09 right now that I have the fenders off replacing two fenders and a bumper cover I have the beeper mine stays unplugged and everything on the CHS tank and the pump are plugged up and that plug is nowhere to be found It's also sticking through your inner fender apron so when I go in and look in the car above where that wire sticking through I don't see those colors readily but my inverter pump is way different from yours or what's in your position for an inverter pump and I forgot to look at the wire colors that are on the inverter pump plug which I am using but with a different plug on the end of the wires. I will look after it's light.

That 3 wire connector should go to the vertical adjuster servo on the driver's side HID headlight (had a look around while changing the oil on my 2006). On the bottom of the beeper, you can see the remains of a plastic snap-clip that held it into a hole in the inner fender - pretty much straight up from where it hangs.

Thanks! I guess I will need to remove the front bumper to get to it as I wasn't able to reach the back of the headlight assembly. I did notice that there is a significant difference between the driver and passenger light patterns, and I wonder if it became unplugged in an accident or whether the light assembly was replaced.

Yeah that makes good sense My HID car with the LEDs on it is here now and that plug is in fact looking like it's plugged into the motor that makes the headlight go up and down according to the load in the back of the car however it's supposed to work however I will say most of these I see don't work if you put a weight in the back of the car and make the headlights literally go 3 in up put a fork from your fork lift on a pad in the trunk of the car and push down on the trunk of the car gently and watch your headlights lift up with your tape measure about 2 in and leave the forklift sitting there have your partner put his hand on the servo motor with the car on and running or whatever I never hear mine or feel mine do anything I don't think they've worked in years either the sensor in the back is fubar or the threaded rod that them servo motor needs to turn to up and down the headlights is stuck whatever I manually adjusted my LEDs in the HID housings and have not touched them since I don't think they're adjusting at all they're not unplugged I left them plugged up but I don't think they're doing any adjusting.

I thought it actually goes on the lower inside edge of the lamp assembly but I can't remember I thought I could unplug it from like where I stick my screwdriver to adjust the halogen units by stick my screwdriver like I'm going to adjust the halogen units on the HID the tip of my screwdriver is touching the adjusting motor essentially and if I just look next to the coolant control valve or something like that the plug is right there and I think they're even as an adjusting wheel that you can see and you might could adjust with a screwdriver with the business unplugged then you could plug it in and see if the car automatically moves it while you're sitting where you're sitting and then find out why or if that's a good thing or not I imagine the manual has quite an interesting adjusting scheme for this setup because it looks like there's an adjustment on the automatic adjuster in the back and then there's an adjustment on the headlight itself so I guess you would dial it in at the back and then tighten up the left of the right whichever side needed to be adjusted or something to that effect.
