Testing waters. How do you like polished Audi TT / S3 wheels on black Prius? Got to have it or make it stop? Specs: 17x7.5" ET32 Rims are very light weight. Tires will be 215/45/17. H&r lowering springs are also in plan.
They are one of my favourite OE VAG wheel, but the car needs to be real low to pull them off Looking forward to seeing it lower on all 4
the krauts tend to use spherical seat lug bolts; good luck finding lug nuts to fit those wheels. if they're anything like Mercedes wheels, they are heavy, easily bent, and over priced. definitely look way better than the oe wheels though...
Tnx for mentioning the lug nuts. I will use generic ones and machine them to fit the spherical seats on wheels. I will check the weight, but they feel very light. Nothing like Merc wheels (we do have one in family). SM-N9005 ?
I've had quite a few different wheels on most of my VAG cars and never had any hassle with OE wheels, cheap reps got bent, cracked and were a ton weight alright
I gad a few sets if 16" BBS splits and they were quite light. I'd love to see a set of RXIIs on a gen 2
Thanks... It wasn't bad enough that my wife wants her Prius black, but now she wants those wheels too. I like it!
I’m inheriting the wife’s 2015 P3 as we’re picking up a new 2024 Prius. Losing my C320 Benz wagon but gaining better economy. As the wife’s stock P3 looks like an old lady’s car (which it is as she is as she pointed out) I want to spiff it up so the rims are all I want to change. I’ve spent hours researching something light, cheap and available. I’ve come to these Audi TT rims and like them and found a used and reasonably priced set in good condition. I’ll use larger tires (maybe 225’s to fill the wheel well better than in the example). HOWEVER, the lug nuts have me concerned. Help please as I don’t think my local tire shops can machine any for me. Where or what can I pick up off-the-shelf that will do the trick?
BTW, I’ve been prowling through all the threads on this site learning more and helping with the decisions. You folks are great passing along all the experience, knowledge and lessons learned. Big thank you!
