we had our first real drive today. took it to church, half highway, have back roads. 30 iles altogether, a/c on, reported 54 mpg. old hycam with 17" wheels would have been around 46-47.

this one has tss 2.5, i had to shut off LKA on the highway as the car was swerving back and forth between the lines, making us seasick. :p

    Congratulations.

    Nice looking vehicle.

It is remarkable that a vehicle that size and nice gets such great economy. Probably the reason it is the bestselling sedan in America

    I'm back!

Went to the Toyota dealer because they had a Prius Prime. Loved it except it was too small to put a set of clubs in the back without folding the seat down. Not interested in a Toyota Truck or SUV. The Crown is too expensive and MPGs suffer so it looks like the Camry is in my sights again. Maybe next year for my birthday and the start of Social Security...

A few Hyundai models had both wireless Android Auto and wireless charging which would be terrific to have. Just plop your phone on the charging pad and off you go with Google Maps. Those idiots are going out of their way to include a larger screen in more and more models at the expense of wireless Android Auto so now they have some models with wireless charging and some with wireless AA but fewer and fewer with both.

With Hyundai it was always hit and miss to find a low enough trim to include the smaller screen (the one with wireless AA) but a high enough option package to include wireless charging. Now it is nearly impossible. Idiots...

Is it universal that wireless AA isn't available on large screens? I am aware that wireless AA is not available on Hyundai/Kia models with large screens but I believe Rav4 has 2 different screen sizes with both having wireless AA.

With a large screen and no wireless AA, can a wireless AA adapter be used? We use adapters on our 2019 Rav hybrid and Mazda CX 30 and they work great but our screens are not as large as on newer models.

It seems to be for Hyundai, can't speak regarding other brands.

Just got to Orlando from Boston last week.
Car drove great, very quiet and comfortable.

First day, 500 miles, nice weather, 35-60 degrees, 55-65 mph, not much hvac = 52 mpg at the pump and dash.

Day two, 500 miles, 45-65 degrees, but a very strong wind and 70 mph = 46 mpg.
Smaller gas tank, the low fuel warning came on after 10 gallons, making me a bit nervous on the last 50 miles or so.

Day three, 350 miles, 55-70 degrees, mostly 70 mph, some wind = 48 mpg.
We were pleasantly surprised that the dash mpg and pump were very close.
Our 2012 got about 40-42 mpg on this trip.

i thought about waiting, but really wanted a new car for the florida trip.

well, our first problem. the car sat out in the florida rain last night and this morning, the cupholders were full of water.
the headliner between the overhead console and windshield is soaked, so i can only think the windshield is leaking.

no sun roof. first thing i looked for, even though i knew we didn't have one.
i'm sure it must be covered by warranty, i just hope they can find it. it's been raining for a couple days, but last night, it must have been driving right into the windshield.
hopefully, it won't rain to much before we get home in late march.

dropped it off at the dealer wednesday. they confirmed the windshield leak, but unfortunately had to escalate it to toyota for some reason.
don't know how long it will take, but at least we got a free loaner.
