Made the mistake of driving from my mailbox into the garage without my seatbelt buckled. The chime started out friendly enough but by the time I parked in the garage it sounded like a Vegas slot machine had just hit the jackpot. That’s gotta go…
Something similar has been standard in all Prius since the start. Pretty easy to ignore on a short drive from mailbox to garage. And on a longer drive it'd be real easy to just put your seatbelt on so you're less likely to die if something unexpected happens. Alternatively, you can buy a mini-VCI dongle for $40, which comes with Toyota Techstream that you install on an old windows laptop to possibly change those settings. But that's assuming you already went through all the settings in the vehicle itself, which is the first thing you should check. And I'd also suggest reading the owner's manual but apparently no one's allowed to do that, so I won't bother.
Easy fix. Just tell the dealership to turn it off next visit as they did mine. There is no menu setting.
No way. Thank you I’m gonna do this. Never heard such a wicked chime. Also my battery is dead in my brand new car so have to go anyways.
