<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Schmika @ Dec, 06:52 PM) </div> In your world, you party it up but leave it to your prodigy to deal with the consequences.
For what it's worth...in my (little) world, Christmas is a time of abundance, and hope, and rebirth. It's a time to celebrate, but also to reflect and 'dig deeper' into our own spirituality. Perhaps your worlds are actually compatible...? I, perhaps naively, would like to think so.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Schmika @ Dec 26 2006, 09:52 PM) </div> Thanks Schmika, I knew that would get a reaction out of someone. My wife said the same thing to me. Still, while my comment may sound like the extreme, taken in context with our overall energy dependency and over use, it has a ring of truth, no mater how insignificant and noble the purpose. I'm not saying I didn't enjoy the display - I actually love that stuff - but knowing what I now know about the environmental consequences, I try to look at everything in terms of conservation, sustainability, and responsibility. I didn't see any of that here.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Dragonfly @ Dec 27 2006, 03:27 AM) </div> Did you mean "progeny?"
Well, it's nice they have a donation box for charities. And it is a pretty awesome display. I switched over to L.E.D. lights this year, I wonder if those could work for them.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(aaf709 @ Dec 28 2006, 12:36 AM) </div> Yes, the donation box is really cool, the news account mentioned they collected over $23,000 (CA I assume) for charity. In the info on their web site, I read that of the 70,000 lights in the display, 60,000 are LEDs and the electric bill is actually lower than previous years with smaller displays but all incandesent.
