I purchased a Gen5 2024 Toyota Prius LE the other week. Dealership wanted to charge over $300+ to just install a cat shield on top of the price of purchase. I bought my Cat Shield from MillerCatCorp, I chose the stainless steel option, and made a little video of me installing it. I know I'm a visual learner when doing projects and always refer to 'YouTube University' so I hope this helps someone out! Video: code "THEPRIUSDAD" ^.^
ill def need this video for when i get the new prius and put on a catshield. was also thinking of closing off a few more open areas with panels for a smoother under body and better aerodyanmics
Is cat theft a big problem? I don’t recall any reports of that here except from car rental lots being hit. (They get a bunch at one time). The thieves from that were turned in by the junkyard when they tried to sell!
I want a smooth flat under flow so I can build a rear diffuser for better mpg. My inspiration for a diffuser would be the Mercedes EQXX
Appreciate the time you took to make the tutorial! Have you looked at other cat shields while shopping around? The one I'm leaning towards is the Cat Security shield which provides more coverage, although a tad bit more work to rivet the other panel in. Miller is a reputable shop too and the install looks super easy.
