Sorry for your loss but the bright side is they only last like 10 years so you will get better mpg with a new one.

You are in a CARB state so you will need to source an OEM catalytic converter and there may be long wait times.

There is also Magnaflow which is also the only other legal option that is CARB compliant.

You will have to look at their website to see if Magnaflow has any and enter your cars information to get the right part.

I got a Magnaflow after my OEM was at its end of life and damaged.

 

Looks like they left you the heat exchanger undamaged. That was nice anyway.

 

Being in New York, you will need either the OEM part number 17410-37300 or the Magnaflow 280460.

Seeing as the Magnaflow is nearly twice as expensive at $2454, and knowing that they don't even give you the entire assembly, I don't see much value in the Magnaflow. The OEM cats are not backordered right now, so you should be able to get your hands on one pretty easily.

 

For resale value and no issues at smog.

I would go to the Magnaflow website and confirm part # of the converter with your cars information for state compliance part.

If you did that already and the part # is the same then yes you can get that one on Amazon.

I wish I would have done that too and got 5% cashback with my Prime card but timing was all it was.

 

If you got an OEM part it would last 10 years or a little more.

Strange they would tell you all that and be wrong in more ways than one.

The part you need it the same part I got and it is in stock right now.

Your state adopted CARB compliance and from you pictures this is all you need.

Difference than OEM is price and little more power and different sounding cat.

But if you dont need all that then OEM is cheaper if you can get it.

 

if you're insured for this loss, I would just claim the insurance and get the original OEM part.
The aftermarket stuff doesn't last very long

 

This should be the EFN you see under your hood on the left side there is only this number in your state.

California has two and you gotta make sure which one you have.

I agree most aftermarket cats are cheap.

Magnaflow is a well known brand and got certification to have legal cats and in doing so the quality has to meet OEM standards and has the same amount of precious metals in it to meet requirements in the strict states.

Magnaglow atleast gives you a 5 year 50,000 mile warranty on it.

Im pretty sure it should last twice that even after the warranty is done.

 

I just double checked my EFN and it is the same as yours.

So remember when I said California had two of these and they are not showing our EFN anymore.

I would ask them when it will be in stock.

The part # 5631455 is the same for either EFN so I do not understand.

I had to make sure which one I had when O ordered mine and HC3 was an option when I got mine.

 

The walker you are looking at is not CARB compliant which you need.

If you're worried about another incidence of theft (as you should be), put up a cat shield, and a tilt-sensor. That should make the thieves recalculate the risk-to-reward ratios. Anything that increases the time they need to get to the cat increases their risk of getting caught, so they will be encouraged to move on to easier targets.

Your state allows the use of aftermarket catalytic converters only if they are exempted by CARB.
