I completed another oil change Friday today view my youtube channel ridesharesean8120 and or my TikTok channel r1desharesean
My car is not new but I am... it's a 2011 Toyota Prius 2. It also has fog lights, navigation, and rear camera which I did not think came with a 2 - but here we are. It has 238,000 miles on it. The guy that bought it at auction replaced the head gasket, water pump, thermostat, PCV, oil change with Amsoil, brakes/fluid, and new air filter. It runs and drives fine - just a bit noisy on the highway. I will take it to my independent mechanic soon for transmission drain and fill with Toyota ATF WS. It has a few small issues: the mirrors don't adjust, the heat doesn't seem to blow (but it could be that I just don't know how to adjust the settings yet). It's also missing the button on the seat belt that holds the buckle in place. I ordered the "button" to add to the seat belt. I will change the cabin air filter soon. I'm a total neophyte so I'm just getting into it. I'm getting 49-50 mpg in northern Arkansas winter temps. In the meantime, I'm reading the forums and the manual, and learning as much as I can. Did he also clean the EGR system and intake manifold EGR passages? I'd suspect yes but good to check. My (unproven, unverified) contention is that the head gasket failures to royally carbon-clogged EGR system. If the EGR has not been cleaned, the new head gasket could blow shortly (again: unproven, unverified) See first two links in my signature; on a phone turn it landscape to see signature. Video #16 here shows checking/cleaning of a connecting pipe in the EGR system that is relatively easy to access.

Hi everyone! After an 8 month wait for a 2023 Prius LE, I took delivery of a 2024 Prius Prime SE a couple weeks back. The Prius I took delivery of was one of the only cars in supersonic red I was able to find that wasn’t already spoken for within ~150 miles of me! I’m very much enjoying the car so far; while this isn’t my first hybrid, this is my first Prius and is also my first PHEV.
So lucky you got the Supersonic Red! I couldn’t find one even 500 miles away that wasn’t taken. I went with the White Pearl as a second choice. My first PHEV as well. Enjoy yours…it’s gorgeous!
My 24 prime xse premium just over a week old Got it before it even reached the dealership It’s 15% tinted and front end will be wrapped on the 16th Still learning on this newbie
