Hi guys, i bought a 3rd gen prius at 100k miles. I have heard all the stories online about blown gaskets, egr cooler, valve, pipe clogging with carbon. i want to know of there any way of doing any preventing work. I phoned toyota but they said they dont do any egr cleaning. I cant seem to find anyone who does that in scotland either. Any help would be appreciated
I feel like you made this thread for me lol. I just took delivery of a 2013 Prius with 132k and have been nervous as heck with overheating, head gasket warning signs (misfires, engine codes, coolant light?, etc.).
Take a couple weeks off work and search the forum, enormous amount of info here! Bought my 2010 with 115,000 miles and just hit 200K with a lot of help from the community.
