The battery was dead due to an extended overseas travel. Like in the title, I accidentally connected the cables to the wrong terminals while using one of the big Dewalt jump starter kits. Immediately, the horn came on really loud and I panicked and got confused and by the time I disconnected, it was 30 secs or so.

I corrected the terminals and was able to get the initial engine ignition a couple times but it was flashing all the error messages, key something, engine oil pressure, gearbox something, brake fluid something, abs system, etc. It stayed on park and didn't let me shift to drive, etc. I turned it off and let the battery charge for 5-10min from the Dewalt kit but everything was dead the moment I disconnected the Dewalt kit.

How much did I mess up? I am hoping it might be a bunch of blown fuses and fried battery maybe so I can replace the fuses and hopefully drive to the mechanic. I would greatly appreciate any advice on how to proceed on troubleshooting.

This was the unit I used for jumping: DeWalt DXAEPS14
Looks like it has reverse polarity protection, though not sure what the extent of the protection is.

If anyone finds this thread, I got it towed to the mechanic, they changed the battery, fusable link and a few other fuses and it was good to go after that. It cost about $600 in materials plus labor.

Is there any chance you would know what other fuses?? Thanks again, Geoff
