Best lift kit???

    I am wanting to raise my Prius. What did you all do to accomplish this?

    Source for parts? Brand?

    On my 2018 Aqua I first tried sacers
    The OEM struts and shocks didn't hold up. Switched to Ceika coilovers. They have lift coilovers for many models. I am very happy with the handling offroad.

    Well you have to ask yourself how high are you going what what look are you looking to emulate so on and so forth Best I don't know about best these are just parts you're using to lift the push the vehicle up in the sky coilovers would probably be the better choice as you have the most adjustments the most spring selections for the duties you may or may not be doing spacing things and all that angles can change things can happen that you have to be aware and prepared for. So planning can be important good idea..

    I wonder what would happen if you did what the guy was talking about a couple of weeks ago and used the parts off of vibe and then you could mess with the springs in that system I think he used I can't remember right now but the ones off of the GT or something like that the springs and came up with I'm not sure what the lift was 1.2 1.3 not a full one and a half I don't think but all this stuff was readily available off of them like similar suspensioned car. But I like the coilover idea best that's the way to go If you could adapt the set of coilovers like they go on an AE11 or some of the Corollas through about 04 somewhere in there The coilovers that work on those cars should fit the Prius and then you should almost be able to get 2 in of lift and be able to put about any kind of springs you want for those coilovers you can get anything literally for relatively inexpensive cost.

    Well coilovers are the end-all be-all for adjustment so after that there's not too much else you can really do I bought full coilovers for a Corolla from $280 a set of four front and rear I imagine for the Prius it would be very similar which it looks like coilovers for a Pontiac vibe or matrix should bolt right in I don't know what you ordered I don't even know what year your car is but shouldn't be a real to do anyway bolt on and go I would think getting the spring rates accurate would be tricky but easy enough to get a baseline just using the stock spring rate basically or one very close to it they should come with inserts in them that have rebound control pillow mounts up top to adjust the camber adjustments down below to adjust camber some more and a raising and lowering sleeve for the perches. A minor made by some not so well-known company with the standard whatever they are 4-in diameter springs like all the Honda guys use or have been using for years. I would think though the vibe matrix setup would yield a better ride with the larger springs and all of that once you get these things down to those little narrow 4-in springs and all that things start to get real bouncy and real weird very quickly just look at all the lowered Hondas and Corollas all over the country they kind of bunny hop everywhere.

    I got away from trying to use other parts designed for other cars and now only work with and use parts specificaly designs for the Prius

    Well the vibe and it's a matrix counterpart are basically the same suspension system on the all-wheel drive version it's a little lifted because of the bigger tires which is what people were looking for for this so kind of a no-brainer coilovers are the same way My Corolla coilovers are exactly the same as the Prius coilovers except you need more space at the ears that hold the hub or the two big bolts go in on corolla's a lot of times at steel iron and it's thinner when you have the aluminum hub it's much thicker almost an inch inch and 1/8 or something and you can't just spread the ears and then of course the spring rates would be different between the Corolla and the Prius. So who's making an engineered set of coilovers specific to the Prius who's selecting the spring rates for the 4-in springs and all that? Usually the person purchasing the coilovers because they're going to change those spring rates a little bit and whatnot for their application correct? I've done this quite a few times on autocross cars street cars what have you somebody has to pick the spring rates that's why the Honda guys have these bunny hopping cars because the spring rate's so many times aren't selected properly and that's what you end up with easy to fix.
