BELEIVE me, if you're not noticing the difference in turning radius, you're doing something wrong. It's HORRIFIC in this car and dangerous.

YOU might be the only person in the whole world who thinks that.
Please stop this ridiculous smear campaign.

Maybe you should start driving a go kart.

I am bothered by the turning radius on my four too. I have already bought a rack and pinion from a donar vehicle but haven’t installed it yet. I couldn’t agree with you more. I already bought the 15” alloys so the wheels shouldn’t rub. Have you made the switch yet?

And yet another case of OCD.
If you are REALLY bothered by it that much, trading it in for a different vehicle would likely be a MUCH better solution.

Do you plan to put the stock rack back in it when you do sell the car ?
It is HIGHLY likely that the next owner will not like your modifications.

And YOU may not either if you find that the higher ratio causes it to wander all over the road at speed.

buying a new car would be easier than spending $45 bucks on a rack and pinion? The 15” alloys are less than what I sold my 16” alloys for there so it was basically free to do the swap.

I don’t care about the next owner and I am sure the next owner won’t care that it has a better turning radius than stock. The look of the 15” alloy to 16” alloy is similar enough.

I don’t think it will wonder all over the road if it’s properly aligned. It might feel more responsive if anything.

Were you the engineer that made the larger turning radius steering rack or what? Lol

A tighter turning radius is NOT necessarily "better".

It was designed that way for a reason, even if it is not obvious to YOU what that reason was.

Please keep us posted with how this project progresses.

Well, I finally got around to putting in the new steering rack. I waited until my tires needed to be replaced so I could do one alignment. Car now has a tighter turning radius and no codes. It doesn’t hit or rub since I replaced the larger 16” rims to 15” rims.

The car runs the same feels great but with a little better turning radius. Seems like the only reason they have the two racks is to accommodate the 4’s wider wheels.

Congrats! Thanks for letting us know that a rack & rim swap was enough to convert it.

I should clarify when I took the rack off the donor car I took the tie rods too that were connected to the rack. I think they are different part numbers too. So wheels, rack and tie rods is all it took to convert it!
