Got to drive a Prime last night, awesome vehicle, loved it! The dealer wanted over $35k claiming this was MSRP. It sold while we were talking to our salesperson, lucky I was able to drive it at all.

It is for the best because $35k+ was too much and my clubs didn't fit in the back without folding the seat down.

I was so nervous to drive because everybody was talking at once and the shifter is a little tricky... warning ⚠️ must D before B!! What? IMG_1742.jpg

I'm pretty sure that the car pictured is not a Prime . . . or do some of them come with the black wheel covers? As far as I know the only ones with those wheels are the regular Prius hybrids in LE trim, which is what I own. I'm sure others will correct me if I'm wrong.

Obviously, if carrying golf clubs without putting the seat down is a priority you'll have to look for a different vehicle.

Hang in there CamryDriver. You'll find one for MSRP out there. I went to more than one dealer, until I found one that wasn't marking up their Prii. The car you drove looks identical to mine when I picked it up (except mine is not a Prime). Can't believe I ever considered those awful wheels/wheel covers.

Thanks for the correction. Looks like the base models all get the black wheel covers. When I first saw them I didn't care for them but now I actually like them. To me they look nicer with some colors than others. I also have the silver paint and I think they make the car look more aggressive somehow.

The good news for you is that the Camry Hybrid seems to be much easier to find than the Prius. The (potentially) bad news is that I don't think there is a plug-in Camry Prime version and the price of the Camry Hybrid might not be much less.

I don't know about ya, I owned a 20PP and I barely use the (27 miles?) plug in feature .

If it was not for the federal and state discount, I perhaps went another route .

Now, if the current PP is worth at 5k or 10k over invoice ( not MSRP ) ... and it is your money, then I would say your choice .

TOY and the greedy/greasy dealers will need to look at the empty lot and decide .

I did decide to a hycam, it just funny that I was out of town, and it a washed !.

Just got a XLE from the dealer with no pre-order. I paid window sticker price plus $200 document administration fee. It has a glass roof, which I didn't want, but the car arrived a day before I bought it. They gave me $500 less than average "Good" KBB price of $12,000 for wife's 2018 Prius One with 125,000 miles on it. From what I've read on the 18 pages of this post, I should be happy. I typically "buy high, sell low" according to my wife. Part of the window sticker will be attached, if I can. I really like it. Average MPG around town has been ~50 MPG.

Found an 2023 XSE in Guardian Gray at MSRP, thanks to the availability spreadsheet someone posted a while back and put a deposit. Going to sell the 2022 Limited through carvana (26.4k) and do the drive from southern NH with a family member on Saturday to pick the XSE in CT. Will end up doing the lease through Toyota for the 4500 credit and buyback the lease through a NFCU refinance loan shortly after it shows up on Toyota Finance site. I wasn't crazy about the glass add-on but given availability it's really what was left. Excited about finally having Android Auto and a digital key though, not to mention the extra EV range :)

Still waiting to get the call that mine is arriving soon, but we ordered a prime and I'm wondering about undercoating/fluid film type stuff.

I know the car comes with rust warranty, and I am obviously going to try to keep the car clean with regular touchless washes and undercarriage cleaning but I have seen some conflicting information online.

I've seen people say that Toyota recommends, explicitly, not to do any sort of undercoating on the car because of the battery - but I did a search on these forums and saw that a toyota dealer was including undercoating for someone as a mandatory add on? And I also read that the manual recommends against "high pressure wash" of the undercarriage... but what counts as high pressure wash? Using a pressure washer right up against the bottom? Or one of those undercarriage sprayers on wheels you can attach to your own pressure washer? The underbody sprayers of a touchless wash?

I understand that there is plastic shield covering most of the bottom of the car. But its not a solid piece, and - inevitably - some moisture will get in there through the winter right? So do we need to do anything special to not leave salt water under there or in the gap? Or is this perhaps why they specifically say not to use pressurized water to wash the undercarriage - to avoid pushing salty water in between the panels?

Sometimes I wish this information was explained, plainly, for people. Our order may well arrive in the middle of february or march when salt is still being applied and I want to think ahead and plan in advance. Rather than be caught flat footed.

Really ? please ... no car will come with any kind of rust warranty, Sir ..
If you want rust prevention, yes, then it need to be re-apply per vendors suggestion .

I do see that you from Ottawa, CA... don't they salt the road there ?!!

I work in the MD area, and I know, " rust never sleep ! " ..

How is that going to work? There is no cashback option, and you could end up paying for more and will also definitely get a higher interest rate because it will be considered a used car.

The $4,500 lease cash is merely a discount on the monthly lease payments. There is no actual cash.

If you buy the car out immediately after you start the lease, you will not only end up paying the MSRP plus the $4,000 lease initiation fee and various other fees, but you may be required to pay all your remaining lease payments depending on your lease terms. In addition, you will pay a higher interest because it will no longer be considered a new car. So, it would bring the cost of the car to $50,000–60,000 or so.

Well there is a 5 year rust through warranty. But I was mostly Wondering how you get rust proofing on a Prius prime given the battery and electrical underneath the car. I guess I'll just need to ask the dealer about it when it arrives and what their recommendation is.

Just reserved a 2024 Prime XSE in reservoir blue at MSRP at a metro Denver dealer with no added fees ($37,319 + taxes). Only option is $299 floor mats. I was hoping to find an SE but they seem to be in short supply. I did not want a glass roof so this fits the bill. Should be available in late January. Colorado has a tax credit of $5000, and in 2024 you're supposed to be able to claim it at the dealership. Is there still a way to track this car (its build began a few days ago)?

It looks like the inventory is booming, and the markups will be replaced by dealer discounts by next summer.

I would definitely not pay a markup at this point, and even paying the MSRP won't be a good deal soon.

And the falling gas prices will further lower the Prius/Prius Prime prices. So, definitely wait until next summer or so if you are planning to purchase one.

I agree with Gokhan there, it is a poker match, "He who speaks first loses" ....

I owned variety of Camry, PP, Tesla, and Leaf... even the PP great in fuel economy, 5-10k pocket to the great stealer will take a long time to recoup in term of gas ( unless ya are taxi/uber drivers !).

It does have the white lens brake bar on the rear so must be a Prime.

I just got allocated a white Xle Prius at MSRP. However, there are lots of factory install and port install options that I didn't ask for. My sales told me white xle is hard to come by and almost all of them have the same factory install and port install option. Has anyone got a white a xle with a 12.3 screen update without a fixed glass roof and other junk options?

For some reason i can't post images but here is the list:

    Digital Key - FIO - $275.00
    12.3-in. Toyota Audio Multimedia - FIO- $735.00
    Special Color - FIO - $425.00
    Fixed glass roof - FIO - $1,000.00
    Door Edge Guards - PIO - $155.00
    Rear Bumper Appliqué - PIO - $69.00
    Mudguards - PIO - $150.00
    Alloy Wheel Locks - PIO - $80.00
    All-Weather Floor Liner Package - PIO - $299.00
    Paint Protection Film - PIO - $439.00
Quick Charge Cable Package - PIO - $70.00

The only thing I want is the 12.3-in. Toyota Audio Multimedia that's it.......

Yeah it sucks they are pressuring you to buy one with all the add ons you don't want. I may be wrong but I think you'll hard pressed to find one with the 12.3 screen without the fixed glass roof. Although you can build one without it on the website, it seems to get auto bundled together. Personally, I would decline it and keep looking. I was really fortunate to find one exactly the way I wanted it. I don't have the fixed glass roof but I only have the smaller 8 inch screen.

I really want the 12.3 screen. I'm not sure if I can manually upgrade the 8-inch to 12.3-inch screen if I decide to get one without the screen update but yea that sucks.
