Hopefully someone can help me figure out how to power on the heads-up display (multi function display - MFD). I have 2 white plugs, which wires are the Power and Ground? 2006 - 2009 Prius
If you’re in Los Angeles—or any other community where the local public library subscribes to the ChiltonLibrary service—you can get the pages from the Electrical Wiring Diagram books for model years 2012 and earlier for free. Start with this link: https://www.lapl.org/chilton
3 connectors on back of mfd The one that has power has the 6 big pins across the top. That’s m13 Has 26 pins. Pin 1 is on the left of the cable connector. Pin 1. Ground Pin 2. ACC 3. B+1 10. Ignition Let us know if it lights up. It won’t do anything without gateway ecu data Though.
Thanks for the reply. I am trying to get it to show anything on the screen and test touch-commands. Even a Toyota startup logo if possible.
Well those are the power pins. I doubt it will do much without comm to the gateway. Ground pin 1 and apply 12 volts to pin 3 & 10.
My guess is it'll do pretty much everything it doesn't need gatewayed data to do. So the mileage barchart won't be very interesting. I've got a 7" Denso unit from a 2012 sitting on a shelf with battery and ground, and it will happily power up, play CDs/DVDs/MP3s, tell me I don't have any radio or XM stations, and show me on a map the last place it thought it was when a GPS antenna was connected.... -Chap
Hey EdtheFox. I used this information from year ago to trouble shoot my MDF. I found I have no ground on the PIN 1. brown wire.. it actually has 8.3 volts.?? How do I track down the brown wire fault?
