I have on month left on the extended warranty customer support program ZJB for the replacement of the break booster - a $3500+ job. Took it to dealer who confirmed it was bad, BUT it has not thrown a code, which is required to fit the checkbox for coverage. The booster is cycling every 5 seconds and has been doing so since I bought it 3 months ago. The dealer says they are handcuffed and the national customer support folks have been nice and opened a case, but are also putting me off. Anyone know how to get the code to go off? Or have any other suggestions. Time running out!

i wonder if holding the brake pedal down would eventually kill it

If the booster is cycling every 5 seconds then both the Toyota Stealership and the National Customer Service department are gonna get you or your family member killed, or at least that's what I'd get an attorney to say in a letter to both parties prior to warranty expiring.

Toyota Techstream software will likely show you that booster cycling interval and getting that data printed up to show them would be useful if you're up for buying a mini-VCI dongle and installing TechStream on an old Windows laptop? Or finding a shop who will do that for you...

Breaks working fine and no fluid leaking, and it's my understanding that there will be some breaking symptoms prior to entering a safety concern.
