Just got my 2012 Prius V delivered 2 hrs ago by flatbed by a guy who speaks no English. I bought car over internet, I live in Virginia and car was in North Carolina. I bought it from Impex Auto Group. Car's outside trunk door button worked once now doesn't plus oddly enough no power to the cigarette lighter outlet. Car starts up fine and seems to run fine. Please help
Your adventure begins. I have seen a cargo net or cloth jam the latch. A bidirectional scanner like Toyota Techstream would be my first tool to verify if the hatch motor responds. Otherwise you might check the fuses and relays associated with the device. It is possible to crawl in from the front and pull a small cover to manually open the hatch. See owner’s manual for that procedure.
I didn't realize their are two buttons their, a tiny one like a nipple and the bigger one I was pressing in the tiny one, I got the trunk open. I still don't have power to either outlet, raining today so didn't fool with it. I did buy some 15 amp fuses. I cleaned the interior and had the back cargo door open for awhile in the rain now I have a door open alert on the dash even though all doors are closed including cargo door. Has to be related to the rain. What do you think?
