It's not that odd: different car, different tire. Most tires have sim operating pressures.

According to tyre world while changing oem rim/tyre size, one got to stay within 2% for safety reasons like brake failures etc.tyres you mentioned takes me way above that threshold.any tips on Spacers?thanks.

For our (3rd gen 17" tires Toyota recommends 33/32 psi (front/back). Weather's getting a bit cooler, so a day or two back I bumped them all to around 34~35. Went for a cross-town drive last night, and was feeling every sunken manhole cover, road defect, even the painted strips, lol. Took them back down to 33/32 this morning, see how that goes...

    215/45r17 is 33/32 psi.
    195/65r15 is 35/33 psi (I think).

I just keep them at Toyota recommended tire pressures. If I add more PSI, it would wreck my suspension+tires faster but give me better mpg.

The roads where I live are rough with plenty of potholes. The winters make them worse. More tire pressure is not a good idea for me with the bumpy roads that I drive on. I guess Prius owners would rather go for the mpg.

In fact, I would rather drive on my 15" winter tires than my 17" OEM wheels as they have a greater tire profile and can absorb the bumps better.

Total agreement; I just swapped over to our 15" snows. Premature, but who cares when you're driving once/twice a week. And I don't like to leave it till I'm freezing my butt off.

Last drive we did on the 17's (at 34~35 psi), seemed like there was a sunken manhole cover every damn 100 feet, and you could feel every one of them.

I tried to bump from 32 36 to both 40
But in a month or less they tend to decrease to 32 to 36 range

Anyone pressure decrease in a month or two
How long does it stay above 40 in general
