What is the solution when you start burning too much oil?

1.2 quarts in 370 miles would have gotten you a free set of revised pistons and rings in the first five years or 60k miles. Toyota knew the issue early but some seem to forget that fact. You got a lot of miles out of it since you are just now throwing additives in it starting at 198,000.

Your high mile engine is a poor candidate for a rebuild. The cylinder walls can't be repaired and continuing to dump oil in it just means your $1800 catalytic converter will clog as well. In the meantime the engine will recirculate even more hydrocarbons, further carboning up everything.

A professionally rebuilt engine is far better than a questionable jdm engine, some of which have proved to be domestic junkyard engines with high miles.

Get a rebuilt engine and cruise for another 200k without engine issue. Or punt rather than going for 4th and long if your brake booster or hv battery has not been replaced.

 

At this point id just do a junkyard engine swap
