Liquid Sealant for TPMS Stem?

Any reader aware of a thick liquid sealant that can be used to reduce air leakage around the TPMS sensor's stem?

When Prius aluminum rims begin to corrode the thin rubber O-ring around stem is not sufficient to seal it to the rim. You can remedy the situation by attaching a wire brush to a Dremel MotoTool and polishing away the corrosion.

But polishing the TPMS port in the rim requires either mounting the tires yourself or finding a tire shop whose level of cooperation greatly exceeds that of most tire shops.

There are Schrader-branded TPMS refresh kits that contain new rubber seals but I have not found these seals to be any better than the leaky ones.

Anyone aware of a paste, gel, or liquid sealant that would improve the leakage situation?

This is probably where a dealership would tell me to buy a new set of rims.

You could try a larger "O" ring, or put permatex around it before tightening the nut
    that holds it in place.
You could also try a small copper washer because it will crush easily and form to the
opening. I'd still put some permatex on it also. And wait several hours before putting
any air in the tire. Or maybe 15-20#'s, to allow it to dry and set.

If you look at different TPMS sensors Schrader type valves they make an o-ring that has a lip on the bottom and a sleeve on it that pushes in to the hole that's in your rim whether you cleaned it or not I doubt selling you new rims would be the end-all be all but slapping the hole with the small flap wheel with your Dremel will yield that clean If you're using just o-rings then maybe a fatter diameter of the o-ring will squeeze down better and seal the space but the one that drops down over the stem that has a lip on the bottom of the sleeve type which actually tries to squeeze up into the space in the hole will probably yield you a better seal The way I do this personally is when it's time for me to get tires and I have a problem with the TPMS sensor I just pull out my trusty sawzall literally cut a hole in the tire do the work I need to do to avoid paying the 7 plus dollars that they charged me at the tire place to screw on the sensor and then I just take the wheel and the new tire over to my trusty place and mount a new tire which is time for anyway I have a bead breaker somewhere but I'd have to get it out and use it The sawzall is much quicker The tires are coming off anyway. Sometimes the kid at the tire store where I go on Saturday is not under lots of pressure and he'll just de-mount the tires and while he's demounting the other ones I'm screwing the sensors in the new rings on and they don't bother me If I do that during the week the manager will come out and be like oh $7 a piece blah blah blah so I resorted to the sawzall because that's very quick and I just carry the four wheels and tires over to the place and they mount them for $12 a piece I bring them home zap them back on the car not doing that again for another 40K or so .

Funny thing about the sealant route is you'd want to put the sealant on the inside of the tire so that when the sealant skins and does its thing the pressure would be trying to push the sealant out of the leak not pushing the sealant off the top of the leak which it'll just rip off the metal and that'll be that 40 PSIs pretty stout It's the sealant were on the other side and was allowed to skin properly and all of that it would have a much better chance of doing his job.

If you don't need the TPMS to work, you can have a regular rubber valve stem installed...I think the diameter is large enough that there will be a good seal and no leak? I have 2 of those on my 2015 ( I just check the air pressure the old fashioned way) and my state doesn't require them to pass inspection.

Yeah I have an '09 here or an '08 with no TPMS sensors and the lights not on on the dash I'm not sure how they did that short of taking the dash out and disconnecting or destroying the connection to that LED. But it has rubber valve stems all the way around just like a regular Chevy Nova and the car has no issues and I checked the tires on this car about once every 6 or 7 months and they don't even veer near a pound they do when it changes from hot to cold weather but that's it If I could figure a way easily to disable the TPMS light and all of my other generation twos I would do it but it involves taking the dash apart so a black piece of tape over it's good enough The funny thing about my TPMS sensors is there always extremely low I feel my tires where I want them which is above 40 lb and all of my TPMS sensors and all of my cars tell me that they're at 28.5 31.2 well over 10 lb below what we're looking for this is with newer sensors not ones with dead batteries are close to it or any of that this is random I can go out to any of the generation twos where the system is working and look at them in tech and they're all showing 8 to 10 lb below what I know they're filled up to be and I can check them while I'm checking this and I'm at like 42 in the front and 40 in the rear but what's being displayed in tech Is at least 10 lb off generally no matter if I push the button and zero out the mess or whatever goes on the TPMS sensor is telling me the car computer or whoever's looking and they're 8 to 10 lb off. I know like that

Mine isn't either really a problem I'd like to get it to turn off but like I say I have to disassemble the dash again so that's not a thing from now on when I take these apart to do the dash I'll disable the TPMS light since it seems that's on most of the car's life especially after the first TPMS sensors go die batteries wear out whatever the black tape works the best out of sight out of mind I'd even do the same thing with my check engine light because all it ever displays is PO420 which I don't have to fix in my state many time something else goes wrong with the car I don't need the check engine light I need the triangle and the amber lights which the check engine is one of those but I never use that for any kind of diagnostic The major things going to bring up the red triangle the red car on the MFD and the rest of your important amber lights ABS skid control traction etc The check engine light in this vehicle is pretty much annoying like the TPMS light so from now on when dash is come out for fixing replacing mental note made to disable check engine light and TPMS sensor light remove speaker from the back of the CM monitor display board when we are in driving heaven.

This is the stuff I was looking for. "WonderMask" is a thick latex-based liquid that can be purchased in 8oz squeeze bottles. It's sold by Chemtronics/TechSpray and is used in the circuit board industry.

All I can say is give it a whirl You're going to run that around the stem that sticks through the hole in your wheel I guess you're going to let it cure and it kind of gets hard and pink It looks like and if it holds yeah you're golden If not then it tire time just take your saws all or your little jigsaw and cut a square in the tire be using the jigsaw I just using aggressive blade drill a hole with a drill bit like you're cutting in the middle of a piece of wood stick the jigsaw in that hole and cut out a square right above your sensor unscrew the sensor play with the o-ring till you get a good fit or get a sleeve with the lip on it that goes around the stem install that apply the nut that holds it all together back run down to the tire store and have your new tire mounted or pay the guy the seven bucks and hand them an o-ring and a new TPMS sensor or what have you.

Most of the time the o-ring is metal. Did you verify that is the source of the leak with soapy water/leak detector?
