The manual door key in the fob is not turning, and I only received one key from the seller without testing it initially. Others who faced the same issue mentioned that not testing the key led to the problem. One suggestion from another forum is to use WD-40 overnight, but there's a concern that it might cause more issues.

Is WD-40 suitable for this, or are there alternative lubricants to free up the stuck lock and allow the manual key to turn and open the door? any other ideas, such as using vinegar?

if the 12V battery dies, access to the car becomes impossible.

FWIW, clockwise unlocks, and vice versa. Maybe silicon spray?

Kroil or Aerokroil. But that's not going to fix you probably these door cylinders generally speaking don't get like this unless it's freezing where you are right now possibly there is graphite and things like that you can squirt a blast into you know that dust things like that but I have a funny feeling you've just been handed a fob that's been jerry-rigged to work and the key never worked and that's the end of that story I can't remember if the key itself has numbers on it the original It doesn't look like it and then yeah it's a Jenner I'm looking at the wrong key fob You have a generation 3 which has the side cut key and your toast so what I personally would do is open the door panel pop out the lock cylinder it's very easy to do just be careful with the plastic door handle get the number off the side of the lock cylinder write it down reassemble go to the generic locksmith well one that can cut a side cut key anyway. And give him that number and a blank key if you got one or you should just order a $9 fob offline just the case and it comes with a blank have that cut to the number you providing and go on about your life if you need the key which you probably will at some point knowing the possibility of this fob's history. Or what we're guessing to possibly be the history.

A really stupid question; how do you know that is the correct manual key for your car? There's been a shortage of key fobs; someone could've simply swapped fobs and programmed that single fob to your car - not thinking about the manual key. Because cutting a new key would be a real pain - who's going to check anyways. By the time the customer realizes it, the warranty has long expired.

    Just saying.....

PS Don't break the manual key in the lock. Dealer will say you abused it - no warranty, if any....

these locks freeze up over time if not exercised regularly. there have been many reports here over the years.
try a good lock spray and keep wiggling the key back and forth with pliers, but don't use too much force.

Yeah I tried mine today, to verify direction, and it took a bit of a twist, but not much.
