Infotainment audio glitch

Thank you all for the tips and hints. I'm trying them tomorrow. Just today I was grumbling at the dropout on the radio and problems reconnecting. I think I'll try wired for distances. Sounds like an ongoing challenge.

 

My reconnect simply isn't working. I'll give it a shot again, though.

 

Oh, for Pete's sake, it worked perfectly this evening. I even found out how to operate the Android Auto with the speech button on the steering wheel (hold it down and talk, not just press). I wonder if it will want to work tomorrow?

 

I'm in the middle of my road trip and out on the open road Bluetooth is extremely stable! Beginning to think it is the car not handling Bluetooth interference well while in the city.

I've decided to give Android Auto a real chance and plug in the phone, at which point it works flawlessly. I think. I'm giving it a month.

 

I was able to fix this a couple times for Android Auto by triggering Google assistant and saying 'Stop audio' and 'Start audio' but I'm not sure if it's consistent

I think the bug generally happens to me when one of the car's safety warnings yell at me
