I think I saw a piece of metal to mount over the plastic raised part of the drivers door entryway. My Toyota dealer can't find anything. I've got a clear roll of "helicopter tape" that I'm going to try. My plan is to clean the surface with Prep All to remove any oil or anything that might make it not stick. Just measured the thickness of the tape at 0.016". Will keep you posted. But if there is an accessory, I still want to know about it. Seems it was in the $200 range.
Accessory available from my dealership. Yep, $200 for all 4 door sills. The ones for the rear doors are pretty useless however, but the front ones are pretty effective and look good.
Those look nice but they are not what I was talking about. I need to protect the plastic ridge betweer the floor and the metal. My feet drag on that plastic because it is highest part of the area. I just got a 4" wide piece of clear plastic and will take some pictures as soon as get it installed. Thanks for the suggestion.
I've seen aftermarket hard clear plastic cover for that sill panel on Corvettes. Never seen those for Prius. OP's idea on clear tape may work. Perhaps, another option for appearance, remove the panel (both sides) and completely upholster with Alcantara?
They're not illuminated anymore? For the best. Our '10 came with illuminated door sills (on the front doors, similar but unlit in the rear), and right from the get-go I thought it was silly. And just one more thing to run the 12 volt down. About on par with auto-folding mirrors. Still there's the question: why the hell should you have to pay extra for these little bits. Why not make them standard, and practical/durable. Rhetorical que$tion, I know...
@Blackat , found it on aliexpress. use keywords '2023 prius threshold' with the search. i find the shipping a bit much hence hoping to find other sellers with better prices.
