    Hello all,

I have a 2013 Prius plug-in base, few months ago I had the TPMS light pop up in the dashboard. Tried few things to troubleshoot it with no success:

    1. Changing tire pressure
    2. Reset button under steering wheel

Nothing has worked and the light is starting to get annoying. From what I have read online, it should my tire sensors are out of battery being 10+ years. Not really looking to change them being an old car.

I read some people saying, one can bypass by shorting the hardness pins 5 and 7 and the warning light should go away. The problem is, my harness only have 4 wires (5 pins with middle blank). Have anyone tried this and have the light gone. Thanks for you help in advance.

I bypassed the tpms warning light on a different vehicle that I own using a procedure I found online. It worked great except that now the heater/ac fan doesn't work at the highest settings. So I think the electronics of these newer vehicles are more complex than we might think - shorting out one wire may do more than turning off one warning light.

I would recommend putting a piece of tape over the tpms warning light and trying to ignore it until the next time you need to replace your tires and then replacing the tires and tpms sensors at the same time.

thanks. I appreciate the help. I was gonna do something similar, shorting it now to get rid of the light, while I wait to change the tires and sensors. Still got more than half life thread in them so it won't be on a while
