2016 Prius Hyprid and just hit the 150k mark. I've seen a couple posts but nothing recent or in CA where I am. What should I expect to see in Cerritos CA for costs? Thanks
I bought the vehicle with 125k miles on it which was all dealer serviced. Since then I have only done oil changes and tire rotations and a couple inspections.
This might help. I previously made a spreadsheet summary (of the Toyota USA Warranty and Maintenance Booklet), but that just goes to 120K miles or 12 years. I've taken that and copied the pattern forward, to 240K miles or 24 years. FWIW, this is what it shows for 150K miles: So the highlights, and my guesstimates: Tire rotation<$50 (USD) Engine oil and filter change<$50 Replace cabin/engine air filters<$100 Full brake inspection<$300 Replace engine/inverter coolant<$300 $800 plus tax. If they adhere to the schedule, dealership is likely gonna say a grand? In reality, they'll likely propose a "visual brake inspection", and load on a bunch of their favourite extras, various cleaning regiments and what have you. Up to you though; you can tell them to just stick to the above. Updated: subsequent coolant changes, both inverter and engine, are at 50K miles after first 100K miles interval.
Thanks for posting this. When researching 150k interval I saw a few people say ATF replacement. But this doesn't show that. Anyway I already replaced it myself with the recommended AWS. I would pay for the coolant replacement since that procedure looks like a pain.
It's actually very easy, if you did the ATF change yourself. All you need to do is remove the lower front plastic panel, just like the ATF change. There's two stop cocks, lower driver's side of the radiator. Open them up, lower is the inverter cooler, upper is the engine coolant. I'd do both of them at the same time, to save me some additional work in the future. PS. keep an eye on the coolant levels, the 2016 exhaust gas heat exchangers are know to fail. They usually get misdiagnosed as a head gasket issue. Since your in a CARB state, double check the emissions warranty. Your close to the end of coverage. Good luck....
