My overhead lights stayed on all night so the 12v died. Joyfully ripped the rear stuff up in 100 degree sun to jump it off. Drove it around a little to get that charged back up. Now the right side of my display panel is black. Please tell me it is something simple and I can fix it myself. Thanks

FYI, There is a jump point in the front fuse box under the hood that is easier to use than connecting at the 12v battery in the back. Look in the owners manual for more information.

What you may want to be doing here is putting the battery on a trickle charger. Let the battery charge up and then ascertain that you actually have around 12 and a half 12.4 volts standing after you unplug the charger come back and check it about an hour later If you're falling the voltage you need to rectify that then you may want to unplug the battery for about 5 minutes or so let the car just completely level off no charge completely dead and then reconnect the 12 volt and see what you got

another thing is to make sure nothing is on the dash in front of the display, blocking the mirror image of the meter

I did some searching on this forum, and I read a few other threads where this happened. You need to fully charge the 12v battery. Driving it a little while will not fully charge the battery. The best thing to do is buy a small smart charger ( 1 to 4 amps) and use it on the battery for 18 to 24 hours to fully charge the battery. The other option is to remove the battery and take it to an auto parts store for a battery test and charge.

How old is your 12v battery?

If you search online you'll find places that fix that. Sometimes it's a capacitor and
other times it's a poor solder joint.
