    As the title reads;

    Is there a way to configure it to turn the heat on triggering the engine to start up and warm up during cold weather?

    No.

    I have tried many times.

    A month ago, my mechanic asked me why? and I had no answer for him.

    In a few months it will be -20F here. To warmup and defrost each of our cars, we must get in them and start them up with defrost blasting. and wait 15 minutes.

    Our 2017 is a plugin, if I start it and step away from the vehicle it will shut off after 10 minutes.
    But our 2011 is not a plugin and it will continue running and making heat for over an hour, if we ignored it.

    put a rock heavy enough on the accelerator to keep the rpm at 1500 it won’t shut off if the accelerator is pressed on while in park, learned this the other day to bypass its automatic shutoff once the coolant reaches 104 degrees so you can warm up it further this way to 184 degrees. Idk lol worth an idea eh?

    I already have that on my tractor.

    Many of our friends drive diesels and they obviously require block heaters, it is a fairly common site, especially the employee's parking lots where every parking spot has a 120vac outlet on a post provided by the employer.
