I just purchased a 2023 GPS map card for my 2018 Prime.

I found where the SD card door is on the information head, but when I push it, it does not open. I tried pushing on corners, edges and center firmly but the door feels stuck solid as if jammed in place.

I was thinking of gently tapping around door surfaces with a small rubber mallet hoping the vibration might jar the door latch(s) free.

Looking for suggestions. Really don't want to take it to toyota dealership with their nosy questions ;)

I believe it's not a door, but just a cover. GENTLY try to pry it off form the edge/gap with something that wont scratch the plastic. AKA dont use a butter knife. i dont remember if it comes out in one piece with the SD card attached or if it's just a cover but I do know you dont push on it to open. It might have "ramps" that help you get under the edge of the cover on the sides.

Just push the right side in, it will pop its left side out that you can just pull and twist (there is an hinge on the right of the trap). See picture below.

My head is the large screen with cover underneath surface lower right side, not like the outward facing pictured above. Found the cover and pushed hard on right side and it eventually popped open but nothing more happened. I felt around but cant feel any card or a lever button that might release card. I will have to get down on my arthritic knees :( or maybe use my smart phone front camera to see whats going on.
Stay tuned, but suggestions always welcome.:)

In mine, I had to use my nail to push the card in about 1mm before it would push out by about 1 to 2 mm, enough to pull it out.

I used my phones front camera to see the opening and like you I used my fingernail to get an edge and move it to drop out.. Getting it back in seated was little more effort but done.
    Thanks for help. :)

The new card was scheduled to arrive Monday(10/23) but delivered Sunday! :D
Worst part is getting the old card out then getting the new one in to stay in. Finally used the blunt end of a plastic knife to push card completely into holder..
Scary part was turning on car and display momentarily says "Unable to read SD micro card, contact your Toyota dealer", :( but then 5 seconds later my home location popped up on the screen :) So now see if everything operates like old card except having more current roads and addresses.
Iowas reconfigured a main highway to eliminate cloverleafs (numerous crashes and truck turnovers), instead creating gentle flyover curves so traffic merges without dangerous crashes. Was fun watching old card GPS as we drove over the new roadways and the map arrow showed we were traveling on gray background no-man lands!
