My 2011 prius was involved in a parked hit and run situation my insurance is saying that they don’t even wanna consider fixing it because they are saying that it’s only worth like $3200 right where they hit my car in the front it cracked the bumper and severed (I’m like 98% sure) the coolant hose that runs directly behind the bumper it car leaked out all the coolant this is the only thing wrong with the car besides the aesthetic of the hood not laying properly I’ve done a brand new head gasket brand new brakes and brand new thermostat this year so I really want to keep the car and I’m trying to fix this hose on my own now does anyone know if this is in fact the coolant hose I’ve looked at so many diagrams and I can’t find it or what the part number would be to order it also has anyone ever replaced this hose what did it run you at a mechanic? Or is it something doable on my own?

it’s not letting me upload the video but here is a screen of the hose it’s directly behind the front bumper

Anyway you can step back from the car and just take a picture Is there a stain on the ground or has it been moved to a new spot I don't care what the insurance company says You just fix the hose fill the system get the air out and well off you go I've got a 2010 solar roof car with a damaged hood bent front bumper cover blah blah blah it's been driving for 2 years It even passes inspection without a hood on it The hood is bent in such a way where it won't close in the safety latch doesn't work The car has 365,000 mi I'm trying to get my other half to kill it and then put her in a gen2. But the car won't die It's running immaculately have to change in the plugs after a rattle and the plugs looked worn out but just changing those in the car's back up and running 200 miles a day not a peep from it coolant stable everything is If you want to call it perfect. But I can't tell you what hoses broke looking in that little hole You might even get a better picture of it from the top if you move a little bit aside but none of that really matters You got a broke hose replace it fix it square up the ends and put a fitting in it and two clamps and put it together. Replace the whole piece if that's what it's about usually once you move the air intake and the plastic nonsense right there in the clamps then you can get down there and see what you've got going on. There's not really that many more hoses than there are on a regular ice engine car with the cooling system just different routing. What reservoirs are empty I'm assuming the one right at the front of your engine there which is your engine coolant reservoir Is that empty? If not open the cap It may just be stuck if you open the cap in the air makes a whooshing noise and then coolant starts vanishing You can actually look and see where it's coming from and repair that hose. Is the inverter jug proper undo its top make sure it doesn't run out.

It’s the coolant that leaked out do you know what that exact hose is called by chance when I google Prius coolant hose it brings up the hard plastic one not the actual long hose the car was moved I had it towed home because it had no coolant the car kept turning itself off and the check hybrid light came on but it was the orangey colored coolant I put in the car a few months ago

No no problem to keep that driving just fix the hose that's like 5/8 heater hose they make a plastic and brass hose barbs to fit that if that's okay with you and your slot cut out the section that's cut square it up put the barb in clamps on fill it up and let it rip I have a nose that's similarly damaged no problem good for another couple years
