Advice on Full Suspension Replacement & Upgrade for 2011 Prius

I don't know do the strut tower brace makers cover this car for some reason I'm thinking not could possibly have front and rear strut tower braces coilovers are doable they're basically the same as a Corolla with wider spacing between the ears that go on the aluminum front and well whatever hub assemblies The Corolla units won't fit on the Prius just because of that everything else is basically the same even the top plate I have a set of coilovers here for an AE 111 and they will essentially bolt up to an '08 generation 2 I just need more space between the ears to offer up the front hub. I don't think our front ends are too sloppy as it is as far as rigidity goes. I don't think Toyota built these cars for auto crossing or seriously spirited driving of course you can throw a little money at that problem.

 

I replaced my shocks for the first time in 2019 with KYB shocks and struts at independent mechanics shop. They haven’t worn out yet but I did have to replace wheel bearings, front sway bars and bushings. Based on older threads here and videos, the consensus is to avoid munroe(Monroe?) shocks.

 

I didn’t notice much of diff. Priuses are usually louder and rougher than other cars.

 

I installed CEIKA coilovers and new rear springs sand shocks. Lots of customization option when ordering. Shocks and struts are adjustable for height ( I orfered the lift option). Also the shocks are adjustable. I am very happy with the ride and control

Cost? The Corolla AE11 coilovers that are all over the web for I don't know what it is $320 for a set of four they're orange they'll fit bolt up to the Prius in it right and everything looks correct The ears on the bottom for the hub to go in are made for the iron hub assembly not the thick aluminum. I'm sure they make a set that will bolt up to the later aluminum hub faces I just haven't looked I could mill my hub faces down I don't know 40,000s and they'd probably fit in the slot

 

Look at what the old guy like me did hear somewhere in this mess using matrix and a few other Toyota pieces in springs The vibe Pontiacs the same and he wound up with a lifted car with stiffer springs all from the Toyota parts books if you will didn't have to merge the coilovers or any of that of course I don't think he was looking for that kind of adjustability which can sometimes turn into a nightmare for some people I personally don't want to be sitting out in the driveway adjusting spring rates and shock rebound and compression rates and so on and so forth at least not anymore.
