Just recently purchased 2013 v with 65,000 miles. Does anyone know how to update the navigation system maps without going to the dealer?
You can’t. Toyota uses a one time update file and then wants to do it. Better to get an aftermarket CarPlay/aa/dashcam for a couple hundred. Plus Google traffic and Waze warnings. The existing system has its place since it still works anywhere without cellular. Typically it only misses new subdivisions.
Actually you can, but it is not cost effective. Basically you need to purchase the map dongle, an activation card (from a dealer’s parts department), and $65 TechInfo subscription to create an installation code. The good news is that the dongle can be shared and likely the TechInfo subscription…
