I ran this Pennzoil Platinum FS for 11 months, and just under 2200 miles. They way the oil felt and looked, I could have easily waited until Spring to change it, easy. I finally broke the 6 month OCI habit, and I still feel like I threw away good oil. The trip meter at setting 2, said "105.5 hours total" and just under 2200 miles. Does this mean I spent 105 hours driving the car since my last oil change 11 months ago in 2022? EV : 25% - 556 miles. Is that good? Avg speed 21 MPH : Much city driving. 42.8 MPG which I assume is my avg MPGs in the last 11 months since my last oil change. Did I get this right?
You don't know how to answer the questions I asked? Guess I'm going to have to get the owner's manual and find out.
Honda has Maintenance Minder, an apparently intelligent system monitoring odometer (miles) and very likely some other criteria, say start ups, rpm, mean coolant temp. It counts down in percent (in 10% increments) to next service interval, and when that interval is nigh displays an alpha/numeric code. You refer to owners manual, to decipher this code, see what’s to be done. At the end of the owners manual description of this system is the caveat, that regardless of the percent showing on the Maintenance Minder, change the oil at least once a year.
